Sound Therapy…the music within..

Sound Therapy

Why did I decide to incorporate Sound into my healing sessions? Put very simply, it’s my understanding that if all we are is energy and dis-ease of the body is simply a lack of energy, Then surely it makes sense for us to find a way of raising our vibration, in order for us to stay well. Prevent illness. And sound therapy does just that, on every level. Therefore it was a no brainer for me to study it and utilise it within my healing sessions. It’s taken me on a new path of learning, opening new doors for me to explore. I’m not an expert by any means, just passionate about self healing. Sound therapy is just one instrument allowing me to help people to help themselves.

Ive written a tiny amount on a massive subject, a small introduction. I’m trying my best to keep it simple, as it is science. 🙂 but I wanted to share a slice of what I find truly fascinating and quite wonderful. We are incredible beings. We are magic

What Is Sound Therapy

Many think of Sound Healing to be heralded as a new concept, but it is in fact one of the oldest forms of healing on our planet. It’s been a huge part of many cultures for decades. From chanting, singing, drumming…etc. up until the onset of modern day medicine about 150 years ago it was considered the normal form of healing and used regularly.

Although it’s called Sound Therapy, it’s more about the vibrational resonance of sound has upon our bodies. If we look at quantum physics we understand that we are all vibrational energy and frequencies. Our body puts out varying frequencies from each organ, cell, energy centres/chakras making harmony with one another. On the physical body, sound has the ability to rearrange molecular structure, this is scientific fact. When we are in a good state of health, all our organs, cells are working together harmoniously, creating harmonic health. If part of the body starts to vibrate at a different rate then dis-ease of the body takes place. We hear the term ‘sound health’ used and it’s actually a great way to describe it. And not a fluke that term is used either 🙂

Sympathetic Resonance

The way in which sound creates change in the human organism is by sympathetic resonance. For example if we play a note on a flute that corresponds to one of the strings on a violin, that string will begin to vibrate. The string on the violin resonates in sympathy to the flute. The same thing happens in the body. If  for example we introduce sound to the body via a tuning fork, the corresponding part of the body that matches that frequency will begin to vibrate, even if it has been dampened by thickened dry connective tissue.

Both external and internally produced sound travels through the connective tissue down to cellular level into the DNA, creating an effect on the electro-magnetic field. As the body is made up of 70% water, sound travels through the body at a speed 4 times faster than through air, arriving in milliseconds anywhere in the body. (The connective tissue is also a pathway for acupuncture, working with the meridians.)

Sound travels through the energy pathways of the meridians and the chakras helping the body to tune into its own unique frequency. Sound removes stuck energy that are causing exhaustion and depleting the body of its vitality. Tuning forks work with the meridians, chakras, endocrine, circulatory, nervous, muscular, digestive system realigning energy, bringing complete relaxation and harmony both on a spiritual and cellular level.

“Sound therapy is a new exciting field with the potential to completely shift our health care paradigm and is boundless in its potential ramifications. Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiologic functioning and can play a positive role in the treatment of any medical disorder”
